This document outlines the New Jersey "Safe Care Cam" program, an initiative by the NJ Office of the Attorney General Division of Consumer Affairs. The program offers micro-surveillance cameras on a free 30-day loan basis to New Jersey residents who suspect their loved ones are experiencing abuse, mistreatment, or neglect by healthcare providers. The cameras are designed to detect and protect patients from potential harm. To participate, individuals must contact the N.J. Division of Consumer Affairs via phone. Upon scheduling an appointment, participants are required to provide a driver's license or official identification, proof of legal guardianship over the loved one, contact information, and sign a program agreement. A staff member will then provide the camera, memory card, and essential training on its operation. Loan periods are extendable beyond the initial 30 days upon request.
