The City of Bayonne, Hudson County, New Jersey, is soliciting sealed bids for the 63rd Street Pumping Station Flood Resiliency Project. This critical infrastructure upgrade involves comprehensive repairs and enhancements to improve the pumping station's resilience against flooding. The extensive scope of work includes, but is not limited to, repairs to the existing pump station building, installation of a new roof, replacement of existing sanitary piping, integration of a new bypass suction and discharge connection with all associated pipework, and significant electrical junction box upgrades for each pump. Furthermore, the project mandates the installation of a new pre-cast concrete vault structure designed for efficient stormwater discharge into the nearby drainage ditch, alongside the construction of a new headwall, replacement of an existing storm sewer pipe from a curb inlet to the new vault, and the replacement of the chain link fence situated near the drainage ditch, all aimed at bolstering flood protection and operational efficiency. Prospective contractors must demonstrate compliance with all provisions of N.J.A.C. 7:22-9.1 et seq., particularly regarding the mandatory participation of small business enterprises owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SED), with a project-specific utilization goal of 10 percent. Key contractor qualifications include adherence to the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.), the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.), and the submission of a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2), along with proof of business registration for both the prime contractor and any named subcontractors (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44).
