Work Uniforms for DPW

The City of Bayonne is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the supply of work uniforms for its Department of Public Works (DPW). This comprehensive procurement aims to secure a reliable vendor to provide all necessary apparel for municipal employees engaged in public works operations. The scope of work encompasses the complete provision of specified work uniforms, ensuring adherence to the City's detailed requirements for quality, durability, and employee safety. Mandatory requirements include adherence to P.L. 1975, c.127 (Affirmative Action), N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, governing equal employment opportunity. Furthermore, compliance with P.L. 1977, c.33 (Disclosure of Ownership) is required, alongside P.L. 1999. c39, as amended by P.L. 2004, c.57, pertaining to NJ Business Registration. If applicable to the contractor’s operations, compliance with the Public Works Contractor Registration (NJSA 34:11-56.48) is also mandatory. Bids must be submitted on approved forms, signed by the bidder, and enclosed in sealed envelopes clearly endorsed "PROPOSAL FOR: SUPPLYING WORK CLOTHES FOR DPW" along with the bidder's name and address. A bid security of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), in the form of a Certified or Cashier's Check payable to the City of Bayonne, or a bid bond for an equivalent sum from a New Jersey authorized surety company, is required to accompany each proposal. Crucially, proposals must be physically presented by the bidder or an authorized representative at the City Council Chamber, Municipal Building, 630 Avenue "C", Bayonne, New Jersey, by the firm deadline of Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM prevailing time; mailed bids will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to adjust quantities, with bids being non-withdrawable for sixty (60) days and contract awards or rejections occurring within the same sixty-day period.
