LETTER TO RENTERS
Welcome to Beach Haven! We are glad you chose to spend your vacation here this year. We
hope you will enjoy our beaches and the many activities we offer.
Recreational activities include:
•
Public playgrounds: Nelson Avenue and Taylor Avenue
•
Public basketball court: Taylor Avenue
•
Public boat ramp: 9th Street
•
Tennis courts are located on Pearl Street, and the Pickleball courts are on Nelson Avenue
o The use of either court requires a pass, and the payment of a fee, if used during
morning sessions, when attendants are present. These can be purchased at the
shack near the court.
o Veterans can use their free seasonal passes and active-duty military and their
immediate family members can use their free weekly wrist bands to play for free.
These passes/bands can be acquired at the Beach Badge office with proper
identification.
o Please see the Beach Haven Borough website for more information.

Beach Etiquette and Guidelines:
•
Beach rules: Please follow all beach rules posted at the street entrances and please stay off
the dunes.
•

55-9, https://ecode360.com/8937481#8937481
•
Guarded beaches: 12th Street, Taylor Avenue, 5th Street, 2nd Street, Centre Street,

1. Senior citizen badges are available for individuals that are aged 65 and older for a
one time, $10.00 fee. They can only be purchased at the Centre Street Badge Office
with proper identification. Senior citizen badges do not expire; however, a fee of
$10.00 will be charged if replacement is necessary.
2. No fees shall be charged to/collected from any person who has served, or is
serving, in any of the Armed Forces of the United States; please visit the Centre
Street Badge Office with proper identification.
Borough Etiquette and Guidelines: While you are here with us, we do ask that you be
considerate of your neighbors. We are a year-round community with families and residents who all
want to enjoy the quality of life here in Beach Haven.
•
Noise control: Please respect your neighbors and lower your noise by 10:00pm, Sunday
through Thursday, and 11:00pm Friday and Saturday.
•

lanes.
1. Bicyclists must ride in a bicycle lane, if one is available.
2. If there is no bicycle lane, they must remain near the right curb or right edge of the
road, moving in the same direction as traffic in the lane nearest them.
3. Bicyclists are not permitted on the sidewalk.
•

1. Beach: 9:00pm to 5:00am
2. Borough-wide: 10:00pm to 5:00am
a. No loitering or remaining in or upon any public street, sidewalk, road,
playground, alley, park, vacant lot, public building, place of amusement
or places of business conducted for profit to which the public is invited,
or unsupervised places, either on foot or upon any vehicle.
b. Does not apply to any minor when accompanied by parent or legal
guardian.
3. There is no vacation from parenting. We do not advise you to turn your kids
“loose” to “hang out.” Although our town is very safe, problems do occur
especially when large groups of unsupervised teenagers get together. We would
rather you enjoy your vacation without interruptions from the police department.
Thank you! We hope you enjoy your stay here in Beach Haven. Please visit the following
website for more information regarding recreational and travel information including restaurants,
theatre, museums, shopping, and a full calendar of events: https://www.visitbeachhaven.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 2, 2026
Temporary Suspension of Emergency Re-Entry Placard Distribution
The Borough of Beach Haven Office of Emergency Management advises residents and property owners
that the distribution of Emergency Re-Entry Placards at the Beach Haven Police Department is
temporarily suspended due to a recent personnel change at the department’s front desk. Placard
distribution will resume on April 16, 2026.
Upon resumption, placards will be available for pickup at the Beach Haven Police Department on
a revised schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Be sure to bring a Valid
Driver’s License and a copy of your Tax Bill, for verification purposes. We appreciate the public’s
understanding and cooperation during this brief interruption in service.
The placards are for scheduled re-entry “grab-and-go” days and are intended to provide a convenient
and efficient opportunity for eligible property and business owners to their check their property after an
emergency. This proactive approach helps reduce congestion, improve accountability, and support a
more orderly re-entry process following a disaster. Please remember that Emergency Re-Entry
Placards will not be issued within 72 hours prior to a forecasted storm event.
As a reminder, the Emergency Re-Entry Placard system is designed to support public safety and
efficient recovery operations following a major emergency. Each property or business owner is eligible
to receive one placard, regardless of the number of properties owned. Placard holders are permitted
access to affected areas during daylight hours only, helping ensure safe conditions for both residents
and emergency personnel while recovery efforts are underway. Please note that condominium owners
have been eligible to receive placards since December 2025.
For additional information or questions, please contact the Beach Haven Emergency Management
Office at 609-492-0111 ext. 234 or via email at Emergmgmt@beachhaven-nj.gov.
