Sewer Advisory Committee
This committee serves in an advisory capacity to aid the Township Committee with the administration of all sewer related issues.  The Sewer Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from the Public Works and Sewer Township Committee Member, the Public Works Manager, a member from the Board of Health, three property owners within the sewer service area, and one alternate.  This committee meets on an as needed basis.

SEWER FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS
FOR
BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP
Somerset County, New Jersey

The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate potential routes for connecting the
residential properties on Ski Hill Drive, Berkshire Court, Old Dutch Road East, Old
Stonehouse Road, Deer Haven Road and certain parcels on Route 206 North Bound to
the existing sanitary sewer system.
The study area consists of 106 properties, of these lots:
7 could be connected by a gravity system
5 could be connected by gravity with easements and individual pumps
94 would require a force main and numerous pumps stations
Septic system alterations of the dwellings in the study area:
37 have had septic system alterations in the period 1991 – 2014.
Four of these dwellings are in an area that could be potentially be served by gravity lines
and the remaining 33 would require a force main / pump station.
The alignment option analyzed in this study has considered the natural existing contours
and connecting the existing sewer main on Hillside Road. The depth of the new proposed
8' gravity line would be between 8' - 12' below the road surfaces.
The potential gravity main could connect the residential lots shown on Exhibit A, to the
existing facilities and allow the existing on-site subsurface disposal systems to be
abandoned.
The construction cost estimates for the conceptual plan is $801,658.00 or $66,805.00 per
lot.
The process of connecting the residential lots to the treatment plant will require a number
of approvals from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, including an
amendment to the Wastewater Management Plan (WMP) as well as the detailed design
approval of the facilities.
