Belleville Fairway Park Community Garden Rules
1. Plot registration begins April 1. All registrations and payment will be handled on-line.
2. The garden area is open dawn until dusk, seven days a week.
3. Plots are clearly marked with stakes.
4. Be considerate of your neighbors. Do not plant sprawling crops or tall ones that might
interfere with others. Keep insects and weeds under control.
5. All herbicides and pesticides must be organic. Miracle Grow is acceptable.
6. If vandalism or theft occurs, notify the Garden Committee immediately.
7. Dogs are not allowed.
8. Family members are welcome to the garden site. Please supervise young children so
they don't disturb other plots.
9. Individual fencing of plots is allowed. Please keep structures under 4 feet tall and neat.
They should be removed before fall end date. Climbing plant structures should be free
standing and not attached to the chain link fence around the community garden.
10. Unattended watering is not allowed. Notify the Garden Coordinator of any leaks in the
water line. Make sure the valve is off when you leave the garden. Keep hoses neatly rolled
up near the water riser.
11. No debris of any kind should be left at the site. Use trash receptacles available next to
the gardens. Please dispose of weeds and plant materials.
12. Notify Garden Board members if you are no longer able to tend your plot, if you will be
absent for a long period of time.
13. Borrowed tools should be cleaned and returned to the storage area when done. Tools
are not to be taken home. Tools are for the Community Garden Use only!
14. Keep gates in the garden closed at all times.
15. The bulletin board is a way for all of us to stay in touch. Please use it for any garden-
related purposes.
Communication is by email to the Community Garden Advisory Board.
Meetings are informal and are scheduled throughout the season.
There are wo mandatory meetings one at the beginning and once at the end of season.
