Home Improvement
Program (HIP)
The HIP Program provides grants in
the form of forgivable loans of up to
$22,000
for
eligible
home
improvements for households that
meet
the
income
qualifications
shown below.
Eligible improvements include but are
not limited to:
•
Heating, Plumbing, Electrical
•
Roof, Leaders, Gutters
•
Exterior Siding
•
Windows, Doors
•
Insulation
Other Eligibility Requirements:
•
Property must be located
within Belleville Township
•
Real estate taxes & municipal
utilities must be current
•
Property and flood insurance
must be valid
Income / Asset Qualifications Region2
(Essex, Morris, Union & Warren Counties)

Total allowable assets in Region 2 is $300,000. This amount includes
real estate. If the primary residence, has no mortgage or debt and is
valued at or above the regional asset limit, the household will be determined
ineligible for the HIP Program.
