OF THE GOVERNING BODY 
OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE 
 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE, IN THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC 
AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING CHAPTER 7 “TRAFFIC”, SECTION 7-29 
“THROUGH STREETS” & SECTION 7-30 “STOP INTERSECTIONS” OF THE CODE OF THE 
BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE  
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the above Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at an 
Official Meeting of the Governing Body of the Borough of Bloomingdale, County of Passaic, State of New 
Jersey held in the Municipal Building on February 17, 2026, and the same shall come up for final passage at 
an Official Meeting of the Governing Body to be held on March 3, 2026 at 7PM, at which time any persons 
interested shall be given the opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance. Copies of this Ordinance are 
available in the Clerk’s Office located at 101 Hamburg Turnpike, Bloomingdale, New Jersey.   
 
Purpose/Summary of Ordinance No. 3-2026: 
WHEREAS, the Borough Code currently sets forth standards and regulations relating to parking on the 
streets of the Borough. The Police Department Traffic Unit’s field observations indicate restricted sight 
lines for drivers on Knolls Road attempting to see Rafkind Road traffic, creating a potential safety 
hazard and making it difficult for road users on the minor approaches to adequately observe conflicting 
traffic on the through street. The Police Department’s Traffic Unit has proposed a four-way stop at 
Rafkind Road and Knolls Road (lower). The Borough Council has reviewed and accepted the 
recommended changes as being in the best interest of the Borough. The ordinance includes 
amendments to the following: 
• Chapter 7 “Traffic”, Section 7-29 THROUGH STREETS 
• Chapter 7 “Traffic”, 7-30 STOP INTERSECTIONS
