ORDINANCE NO. 6-2026 
OF THE GOVERNING BODY 
OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE 
 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE, IN THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC 
AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING CHAPTER 92 “ZONING” SECTION 26.7 WALLS OF 
THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE 
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the above Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at an 
Official Meeting of the Governing Body of the Borough of Bloomingdale, County of Passaic, State of New 
Jersey held in the Municipal Building on February 17, 2026. Final hearing and adoption originally scheduled 
for April 7th has been postponed and rescheduled. The ordinance shall come up for final passage at an Official 
Meeting of the Governing Body to be held on May 5, 2026 at 7PM, at which time any persons interested shall 
be given the opportunity to be heard concerning said Ordinance. Copies of this Ordinance are available in the 
Clerk’s Office located at 101 Hamburg Turnpike, Bloomingdale, New Jersey.   
 
Purpose/Summary of Ordinance No. 6-2026: 
WHEREAS, the Borough Code currently sets forth standards and regulations regarding retaining walls 
within the Borough of Bloomingdale. The Planning Board has recommended the Ordinance Review 
Committee make amendments to the code which are consistent with Planning Board resolution decided 
on November 12, 2025 (memorialized January 28, 2026). The Ordinance Review Committee finds it 
necessary and appropriate to amend the zoning chapter of the Borough code to clarify and regulate 
certain uses relating to walls. The amendments are for Chapter 92 (Zoning) section 92-26.7 ‘walls’
