It is my pleasure to wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year. This year will bring
continued sustainable practices to our Borough and each and every one of you can be a part
of our success and make a difference to our community, our environment and conserving
our resources. We will continue to focus on public health, the environment, quality of life
and keeping you and your families safe.
I am pleased to present you with our new Borough Garbage and Recycling Calendar for 2025.
This is your guide for the entire year. There will also be copies available in the Clerk's Office
as well on the Borough website in case you misplace it.
Bogota takes recycling and sustainable practices very seriously and Bogota continues to hold
Sustainable Jersey Bronze certification for its exemplary practices. We are always exploring
new ways to enhance services to our residents and respond to their recycling concerns. Our
recycling depot is currently located at the Swim Club parking lot. The Cross Street location
has been closed. Our depot accepts many types of recyclables such as: used cooking grease,
waste oil, cardboard, fluorescent bulbs, bottles, cans, used tires, and metal. You may also drop
off textiles and shoes at the Crime Stopper bin at Quick Chek to support this very successful
program. Feel free to call Borough Hall at 201-342-1736 for more information. We will continue
to pick up recyclables at your curb every Wednesday throughout the year. Our services have
been and will always be generous to our residents. We continue to collect plastic film at the
Borough Hall, Library and Police Station bins as well as unused prescription drugs at our police
station. The amount of material collected is impressive and helps us maintain our Sustainable
Jersey certification that I am personally proud of. Recycling also provides us with Clean
Communities funding and other grants. We have increased our recyclable bins throughout the
Borough this year.
Last year was extremely challenging for everyone and the cost of living continues to increase.
I know it has not been easy. Residents are generous in providing free clothing and household
items on the community Facebook pages and reuse is welcome. Our community spirit and
assistance to those in need is what sets us apart. Bogota is full of very warm and generous
residents who help their neighbors. We continue to ask our local businesses to enhance and
increase their recycling and offer our assistance where needed. Businesses are a vital part of
our community and can join our sustainable efforts.
Finally, I thank all of you for your continued efforts. I have enjoyed my first year as your
Mayor of this wonderful community. Always feel free to contact me anytime. Continue
staying healthy and safe and always continue to recycle every day.

photo chemicals, poisons, solvents, vehicle batteries,
rechargeable batteries, blacktop sealers, bug spray, fertilizer,
fire extinguishers, gasoline, glue, herbicides, insecticides,
kerosene, lighter fluid, mercury switches, oil filters (used),
pesticides, propane gas cylinders (1lb and 20lb only),
solvents and thinners, thermostats, thermometers
