Stormwater Improvement Project High St. Area

The Township of Cranford has received an award of $1.8 million from the State of New Jersey to undertake a significant stormwater improvement project. This initiative aims to completely overhaul the underground stormwater system in the areas of High Street, Chestnut Street, Walnut Avenue, and South Avenue, enhancing infrastructure and mitigating flash flooding. The project is slated to commence in 2025. A public information session regarding the project occurred on February 20, 2025, where the Township Engineer presented the general site plan. The Township will provide ongoing updates through its website, social media channels, newsletter, Cranford TV35, and Nixle for road closure notifications. Interested parties can sign up for a distribution list for project updates, although daily updates are encouraged through the Township's various communication platforms.
