Abandoned & Vacant Property Registration Form

This document outlines the requirements for registering vacant and abandoned residential properties within the Township of Downe. Property owners must complete a Certificate of Registration Form and submit it to the Township Clerk, along with the required fees, which range from $500.00 for initial registration to $5000.00 for subsequent renewals. The registration is valid for one year, and annual renewal is required by January 1st of each year. Owners are responsible for continuous property maintenance, securing the building, and affixing a sign with responsible party contact information. Failure to comply may result in fines ranging from $100.00 to $1,000.00 for each offense.
