Sewer Utility Rate Study

The Township of East Brunswick is seeking proposals for a Sewer Utility Rate Study. The goal of the study is to recover the cost of providing service from each customer, ensure the recovery of operating costs and maintain reasonable operating reserves, simplify customer classifications, define fixed and variable costs, employ cost-of-service rate-setting principles, and develop a rate schedule projecting rates over a 5-year period that funds capital requirements. The selected firm will need to provide recommendations and findings in a final report, and the proposed rate structure must be accommodated within the existing sewer billing system. Key tasks include identifying direct costs in the Utilities budget, reviewing existing sewer rate structures, and providing an electronic model for future rate-setting scenarios. Sealed RFP responses were due to the Municipal Clerk by June 1, 2023.
