The City of East Orange is seeking proposals for comprehensive Towing & Storage Services, as detailed in an addendum to their original Request for Proposals (RFP). The awarded contractor will be responsible for managing a high volume of vehicles, facilitating efficient recovery, and ensuring compliance with municipal ordinances, including the City of East Orange Ordinance 6 of 2025 for the Operation of Wreckers on Private Property. This contract is crucial for maintaining public safety and managing vehicle incidents within the city. The city reserves the right to conduct public auctions for unclaimed vehicles under N.J.S.A. 39:10A-1, with specific stipulations regarding the disposition of funds and contractor liability. Prospective contractors must satisfy stringent geographical and capacity requirements to be considered for this critical municipal service. A mandatory condition specifies that respondents must possess a storage lot situated either within the geographical borders of East Orange or no more than five (5) miles from the City's borders, ensuring rapid response and accessibility.
