COLUMBIAN PARK IMPROVEMENTS – FIELDHOUSE AND SWIMMING POOL

The City of East Orange is seeking bids for comprehensive improvements to Columbian Park, focusing on the Fieldhouse and Swimming Pool. This project encompasses an extensive rehabilitation of the existing Fieldhouse, which will include the construction of a small addition, installation of a new roof, and significant interior renovations to incorporate a new commercial kitchen and updated bathroom facilities. Additionally, the scope of work extends to the swimming pool area, slated for renovations such as a new concrete pool deck, new cooping, and the integration of a new battery-powered ADA swing chair to enhance accessibility. Prospective contractors must demonstrate a strong record of accomplishment, possessing appropriate licenses for the required remediation work and a minimum of three successfully completed projects of similar type and magnitude within New Jersey. Compliance with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and the Public Works Contractor Registration Act is mandatory, requiring submission of valid certificates and other specified documentation. A non-mandatory, yet highly recommended, site walk-through is scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Columbian Park, located at 175 Springdale Avenue, East Orange, New Jersey, allowing bidders to familiarize themselves with existing conditions. Bid proposals must be submitted in quadruplicate on the forms provided, sealed in an envelope clearly marked with the bidder’s name and the project title. A Proposal Guarantee, in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond, equal to 10% of the total bid (not exceeding $20,000.00) and payable to the City of East Orange, NJ, is required. Comprehensive documentation including Non-Collusion Affidavit, Affirmative Action Affidavit, Statement of Ownership, Business Registration Certificate, and Construction Experience Record, as detailed in the Bid Document Submission Checklist, must accompany the proposal.
