DEMOLITION OF VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF EAST ORANGE

The City of East Orange, New Jersey, is soliciting competitive bids for the comprehensive demolition and site remediation of various properties located within its municipal limits. This significant public works project involves the complete removal of existing structures, including all equipment, fixtures, and foundation walls, extending at least one foot below grade. The extensive scope of work further mandates the professional disconnection and termination of all utility facilities, precise tapping and plugging of sewer and water lines by a licensed plumber, and the construction of sidewalk canopies and barricades where necessary to ensure public safety. Post-demolition, contractors are responsible for the thorough removal and proper disposal of all material, debris, and excess fill. The project requires the backfilling of sites with uncontaminated, certified soil from an approved supplier, strictly prohibiting the burial of organic materials. Furthermore, a 6-foot galvanized chain-link fence, complete with top and bottom rails and a 3-foot wide access gate, must be erected around the perimeter of each lot to secure the site.
