a. Work includes but is not limited to replacement of the existing Melody and Middleton
Pump Stations with new prefabricated pumping stations as well as electrical
improvements, new water services, and various site improvements. The work also
includes various site improvements and new water service to the Elkton Pump Station.
b. Contractor is responsible for excavation, shoring and dewatering. Bidders shall submit a
shoring and bracing design signed by a licensed NJ PE. See Geotechnical Report for
reference.
c. The replacement pump stations are designed to be an all-inclusive package provided by a
single supplier. Approved equivalent to the specified equipment must meet the
specifications for materials of construction, operation, and performance criteria.
d. Contractor shall furnish and maintain temporary bypass pumping as required. The
various improvements will be completed without interruption to the operation of the
sanitary collection and conveyance system.
3. This project is funded through a loan with the New Jersey Water Bank, and the Contractor must
comply with all NJDEP requirements including but not limited to the following:

This project is subject to the provisions of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, and
the contractor must comply with the BABA requirements.
