How we can help 
If you think your business would be a fit for our town, 
contact the Economic Development Advisory Commission.
We will arrange a meeting with the commission members,
and as many of our professionals as we feel are necessary
to determine whether your business fits. If it does, we
will provide the necessary guidance to speed you through
any land use board approvals that may be necessary.
We will work with you to find a way to accomplish your
goals and objectives. By preparing you for the land use approval
process, we will save you both time and money! 
Promoting new businesses
To help you kick-off your new business, we have a section 
on our township web site called “New Area Businesses”.
In this section, at no charge, you can post pictures and 
a brief promotional description of your business. We can 
also facilitate attendance of town officials at your grand 
opening ceremony.

Hardyston Township offers many   
recreational opportunities in  
a spectacular setting of majestic 
mountains and scenic lakes. 
Within this exceptional landscape there are experiences 
for all ages and every season. The Township hosts activities 
at the following locations:
• Thirty-acre Wheatsworth Road Complex – The complex has ten
different sports fields for Wallkill Valley Regional Soccer, Little League, and other teams. The
complex also provides a playground, pavilion/concession area. During the summer, movie nights
and concerts are held, and it is also the perfect setting for our 
annual Hardyston Day. The complex also has a community 
garden and a 1-mile walking track with exercise stations 
to provide a balanced program of total fitness 
conditioning for all ages and sizes.
• The Senator Robert E. Littell Community Center, located in
Franklin Borough, is shared by Hardyston Township, Franklin
Borough, and Hamburg Borough. The Center provides a 
full-size gymnasium, meeting rooms, game room, and
kitchen facility. The Center hosts frequent events and 
gatherings for all ages.
Many recreational 
organizations and businesses have decided to
make Hardyston their home:
• The Crystal Springs Golf Resort, a world-class 
destination featuring luxury accommodations, 
including The Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel, 
9 resort restaurants, 135,000+ bottle wine cellar, 
2 award-winning spas, fitness and sports clubs, 
six championship golf courses, 32,000-square feet 
of event space, a biosphere that hosts an indoor pool 
complex consisting of vortex pools, caves, a water slide, 
a sunken aquarium, two heated pools, outdoor pools, 
a chef’s garden, and more. 


• The Sussex County YMCA has something for everyone in
our community, from infants to seniors. The facility features
an indoor pool with aquatic programs, cardio and strength
conditioning equipment, fitness classes for all levels,
sports and enrichment classes, and a supervised child
watch and youth room.
• Skylands Ice World, providing year-round public 
skating, ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational
skating opportunities on two ice rinks. In addition, the
80,000 square feet facility includes a second floor to host events
for families, businesses and schools.
• The Sparta Mountain Wildlife Management Area
• The Wallkill Wildlife Refuge and other state parks for hiking, biking,
exploring, fishing, camping, and other outstanding outdoor activities. 
• Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and a summer water park
within five minutes of Hardyston’s border at Mountain Creek.
• A full range of dining preferences and experiences from 
family-style restaurants to four-star rated dining such as 
• Restaurant Latour which has been recognized as one of 
“America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants” by Wine Enthusiast and
“Grand Award Recipient” by Wine Spectator.
Sussex County provides countless opportunities to explore 
and experience, including the Appalachian Trail, local wineries, 
historical museums, and landmarks. 
Sussex County also is host to the New Jersey State
Fair/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show at the Sussex

• Schools - Hardyston children can attend the Hardyston Elementary
School (K-4), Hardyston Middle School (5-8), and Wallkill Valley 
Regional High School. Private and parochial schools are also available.
• Open Space - Approximately half of Hardyston is dedicated as
