CITY OF HOBOKEN
ADDENDUM TO BID DOCUMENTS
BID – 23 – 12 - Hoboken City Hall Phase 2 Portico Restoration & North Stair Security Doors
This Addendum # 2 dated December 21, 2023, is issued to modify the above-mentioned BID, and is hereby made part of the BID documents. Please attach this Addendum #2 to the original documents in your possession and ensure same is included in your proposal. This addendum includes:
Q1. Bidder Checklist page 26, Form #10 states “Naming Of Subcontractors Form (Includes All, plumbing, asbestos, etc.)” and Form 10 states “pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16”. Local public contracts law and statute 40A:11-16 only requires the bidder to identify the subcontractor being used for the four specialized “sub prime” categories (HVAC, Plumbing, Structural Steel & Electric); please revise page 26 in accordance with the statutory requirements.
A1. Form will stay the same. See below law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16 40A:11-16. Separate plans for various types of work; bids; contracts
a. (1) In the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction, alteration or repair of any public building by any contracting unit, when the entire cost of the work will exceed the bid threshold, the architect, engineer or other person preparing the plans and specifications may prepare separate plans and specifications for branches of work in the following categories:
(1) The plumbing and gas fitting and all kindred work;
(2) Steam power plants, steam and hot water heating and ventilating and refrigeration apparatus and all kindred work;
(3) Electrical work, including any electrical power plants, tele-data, fire alarm, or security system;
(4) Structural steel and ornamental iron work; and
(5) General construction, which shall include all other work required for the completion of the project.
Q2. Contract for Construction Services article 1.7.13 states “The Contractor shall obtain and pay for the building permit”; please advise if the fee has been waived by the City of Hoboken or provide the fee schedule for this project.
A2. The fee will be waived as this is a City project.
BID DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THURSDAY, JANUARY 11TH, 2024 AT 2PM.
The City will not accept any further RFI/questions at this time.
This addendum is posted on the City of Hoboken website to ensure compliance. There are no other
changes to the BID documents as part of this addendum.
