COVID-19 RESOURCES FORMS ALERTS 311 CALENDAR & EVENTS NEWS CITY DIRECTORY Opportunities Home o Departments o Access Board BID NUMBER 24-01 -WASTE COLLECTION AND HAULING - Addendum # 1 BID NUMBER 24-01 Addendum # 1 | Bid Description CITY OF HOBOKEN ADDENDUM TO BID DOCUMENTS BID NUMBER 24-01 -WASTE COLLECTION AND HAULING This Addendum # 1 dated February 29, 2024, is issued to modify the above-mentioned BID, and is hereby made part of the BID documents. Please attach this Addendum #1 to the original documents in your possession and ensure same is included in your proposal. This addendum includes: Alternates shall be added to the statutory requirements and technical specifications as follows, with additions in underline. 5.8. VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT A minimum of six (6) trucks meeting the specifications herein shall be utilized for service on each collection night. All vehicles shall be registered with, and conform to the requirements of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:26–3.1 et seq. All collection trucks shall be compaction types, completely enclosed and watertight, with pack-at-idle feature that reduces packer cycling noise and increases fuel economy during the pack cycle. Subject to the prior approval of the City’s Contract Administrator, the Contractor may employ equipment other than compaction type vehicles on streets whose width precludes the use of such vehicles. The Contractor shall specify whether the vehicles are front or rear loading. Collection trucks must be able to collect rear-loading containers up to 8 cubic yards. Side loading vehicles are not permitted due to narrow roadways. Alternate A: Contractor shall have two trucks equipped with the Qwip-tip Rhino XL truck lift available to service 2 - 3 cubic yard rear load containers as well as 64 and 96 gallon bins for a potential waste containerization pilot program. See attached specifications for the Qwip-tip Rhino XL truck lift. Alternate B: Contractor shall have two trucks equipped with the Perkins D6208 truck lift available to service 1100 liter (1.4 cubic yard) rear load containers as well as 64 and 96 gallon bins for a potential waste containerization pilot program. See attached specifications for the Perkins D6208 truck lift. All vehicles shall be maintained in good working order and shall be constructed, used and maintained so as to reduce unnecessary noise, spillage and odor. The City’s Contract Administrator shall have the right to inspect all vehicles, at any time, during the term of this contract, and the Contractor shall comply with all reasonable requests relative to the maintenance and repair of said vehicles and other equipment used in the execution of the Contract. All vehicles shall be equipped with a broom and shovel. The City’s Contract Administrator may order any of the Contractor’s vehicles used in performance of the Contract out of service if the vehicle is not maintained in accordance with the requirements of these Work Specifications. In such event, the Contractor shall replace such vehicle, at its sole cost and expense, with a conforming vehicle satisfactory to the Contract Administrator. Bid proposal has been amended. Please use the bid proposal sheet that is in this addendum. This addendum is posted on the City of Hoboken website to ensure compliance. The City will not accept any further RFI/questions at this time. There are no other changes to the BID documents as part of this addendum. The bid award will be based on the lowest Total Base Bid Amount.
