ROOF REPLACEMENT AND REPAIRS at MOUNTAINSIDE PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Borough of Mountainside is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for comprehensive Roof Replacement and Repairs at the Mountainside Public Library. This vital project encompasses a broad scope of work, including all submittals, Division 1 requirements, utilities, superstructure modifications, finishes, MEP systems and equipment updates, painting, site work, and site restoration. The contractor will be responsible for delivering a complete and ready-for-use facility, including all necessary warranties, guarantees, and training incidental to the project, as detailed within the Contract Documents and specified Allowance Items. This initiative aims to ensure the long-term structural integrity and operational efficiency of the public library, a critical community asset in Mountainside, New Jersey. Prospective bidders must demonstrate specific DPMC Trade Pre-qualifications, including C008 General Construction OR C009 General Construction/Alterations and Additions, C068 Roofing Membrane Modified Bitumen, C070 Roofing-Build up, and C072 Roofing-Tile/Slate/Shingles. Bidders must also comply with various New Jersey statutes, including N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. (Affirmative Action), the Americans With Disability Act, the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.), statements of ownership (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2), subcontractor lists (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16), the New Jersey Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.), and the New Jersey Business Registration Act (P.L. 2004, Chapter 57, N.J.S.A. 52:32-44). A non-mandatory Pre-Proposal walk-through is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST, at the Mountainside Public Library, 1 Constitution Plaza, Mountainside, New Jersey 07092, to aid understanding of the project scope. Sealed bids must be submitted by U.S. mail, express mail, or in person to the Borough Hall, ATTN: Martha Lopez – Borough Clerk, at 1385 US Highway 22 East, Mountainside, New Jersey 07092, no later than Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST, when they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bid packets became available starting Friday, January 30, 2026, and can be obtained from the Borough Clerk’s Office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday) for a non-refundable Plan Fee of $25.00 for a digital PDF copy or $250.00 for a hard copy set, payable by Corporate Check, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Money Order to the Borough of Mountainside. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount or Twenty-Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), whichever is lower, along with a Certificate of Surety.
