Request for Proposal 2026 Part-Time Arborist Consultation Services

The Borough of New Providence is soliciting proposals for Part-Time Arborist Consultation Services to manage its Community Forestry Management Plan. The retained consultant will be responsible for tasks including maintaining and updating the tree inventory for approximately 2,000-3,000 municipal trees, inspecting and assessing trees, developing maintenance policies, coordinating tree replacement contracts, reviewing landscaping plans for Planning and Zoning Boards, and identifying public hazards. Key qualifications for prospective consultants include a B.S. Degree in Forestry or a related field, along with being a New Jersey Certified Tree Expert. Proposers must submit detailed company information, professional references, specific experience related to the project, and required compliance documentation such as a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate and various disclosure forms. Proof of professional liability, worker's compensation, and automobile insurance with specified minimum limits is mandatory. Proposals are due by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Submissions require two hard copies and an email to the Borough Clerk. The contract term for the successful candidate will be for nine months, commencing April 1, 2026, and concluding December 31, 2026.
