2016 Inlet Reconstruction

The Borough of Raritan, located in Somerset County, New Jersey, is soliciting sealed bids for its 2016 Inlet Reconstruction project. This comprehensive public works initiative encompasses the partial or complete reconstruction of 18 specific drainage structures situated across Raritan Borough. A critical component of the project involves the reconstruction of adjacent asphalt surfaces to rectify both pavement failures and drainage deficiencies in the vicinity of each structure. Furthermore, the contractor will be responsible for meticulously resetting existing frames, grates, and inlet heads subsequent to the completion of the structural repairs, ensuring optimal functionality and aesthetic integration within the municipal infrastructure. Prospective contractors are mandated to meet stringent qualification criteria. Bidders must be duly registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor under the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (P.L. 2003, c. 91, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.51) at the time of bid submission. Additionally, registration with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue, pursuant to the Business Registration Act (P.L.2004, c.57, N.J.S.A. 52:32-44), is required. Bids must be submitted exclusively on the Bid Form provided within the Contract Documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name and the bidder's name and address. Submissions must be delivered to the Borough of Raritan, 22 First Street, Raritan, NJ 08869, prior to the firm deadline of Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 2:00 PM. A mandatory Bid Security, amounting to not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount but not exceeding Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), is required, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21. Bidders must also provide a Certificate of Consent of Surety from a Surety Company, committing to act as guarantor for performance under the Contract Documents.
