Relief Hose Company #2 Firehouse Generator Project

The Borough of Raritan, Somerset County, New Jersey, is soliciting sealed bids for the Relief Hose Company #2 Firehouse Generator Project. This comprehensive project entails the supply and installation of a 45kW standby natural gas generator, housed within an outdoor enclosure and situated on a new concrete slab, at the Relief Hose Company #2 Firehouse located at 611 Thompson Street. The scope of work also includes the installation of a Single Phase 200A 120/240V automatic transfer switch. The selected contractor will be fully responsible for all associated wiring, conduits, junction boxes, commissioning, and any other necessary efforts required to ensure the complete and operational installation of the outdoor generator system. Prospective bidders must demonstrate compliance with specific contractor registration requirements mandated by the State of New Jersey. This includes registration with the New Jersey Department of Labor under the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (P.L. 2003, c. 91, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.51) and with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue, pursuant to the Business Registration Act (P.L.2004, c.57, N.J.S.A.52:32-44), both of which must be active at the time bids are received. Furthermore, a Certificate from a Surety Company is required, indicating consent to act as surety and guarantor for performance as stipulated in the Contract Documents. Contract Documents are available for examination Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at Van Cleef Engineering Associates, 755 Memorial Parkway, Suite 110, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865, and can be obtained from the same location upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Fifty dollars ($50). Bids must be submitted on the official Bid Form provided within the Contract Documents, sealed in an envelope plainly marked with the project name and the bidder's name and address. All submissions must be delivered to the Borough of Raritan, 22 First Street, Raritan, NJ 08869, prior to the public bid opening scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 10:00 AM; bids will not be accepted after this precise deadline. A Bid Security, in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid but not exceeding Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), is mandatory as per N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21. Bidders are also required to comply with statutory provisions related to Affirmative Action (P.L. 1975, c. 127), Prevailing Wage (P.L. 1963, c. 150), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
