Civil Rights Policy

The Borough of River Edge annually affirms its Civil Rights Policy via Resolution #24-48. This policy applies to all officials, appointees, employees, prospective employees, volunteers, independent contractors, and members of the public who interact with municipal personnel. The resolution, adopted on January 5, 2024, ensures treatment consistent with applicable civil rights laws, including the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, the New Jersey Law against Discrimination, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Conscientious Employee Protection Act. It also establishes procedures for reporting alleged discrimination, harassment, and civil rights violations.
