1A change in the form of government to Non-partisan Mayor-Council with May elections was approved by the
voters at the November 2004 Election. Because of this, the terms of those in office expired on 6/30/05. Mayors
started being elected in the Mayor-Council form instead of being selected amongst elected officials at Reorg like
the Committee form of Government.

2At the November 2007 Election, Voters approved a name change for the municipality from Washington
Township to Robbinsville Township.
3In 2011, the Township Council passed an ordinance, which changed the elections from May to
November & extended the terms of those in office by 6 months.
4In 2023, a new State Statute extended the terms of elected officials until January 15th for non-partisan
governments with newly elected officials taking office on January 15th after an election.

*Note that the Municipal Clerk used to be an elected position in the Township. It’s a guess as to
whether E. B. Yard served the entire time from 1882 to 1923. There is a newspaper article saying he
was elected in 1882. The term of that election is unknown. Meeting minute books confirm he was the
clerk from 1897-1923.
