Nassau Street Improvements

The Borough of South Bound Brook, New Jersey, is soliciting sealed proposals for the "Nassau Street Improvements" project, a comprehensive public works initiative designed to enhance road infrastructure and pedestrian safety within the municipality. The extensive scope of work includes the resurfacing of Nassau Street from Van Sickle Boulevard to Madison Street, encompassing Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) milling and various pavement repairs to restore the roadway's integrity. All bidders are mandated to be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and must provide a certificate of registration demonstrating compliance with "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act" (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48). Samuel, P.E., of CME Associates, are available for examination and purchase for a non-refundable fee of $50.00 at the Borough Engineer's office located at 3141 Bordentown Avenue, Parlin, New Jersey, and at the Borough Clerk's office, 12 Main Street (Trailer Annex), South Bound Brook, New Jersey, during business hours, up until 48 hours prior to the bid opening. Sealed proposals for the Nassau Street Improvements will be received and publicly opened and read aloud on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. prevailing local time, at the Borough of South Bound Brook Municipal Building (Trailer Annex), situated at 12 Main Street, South Bound Brook, New Jersey 08880. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the bidder's name and address and the project name, addressed to the Mayor and Borough Council, Borough of South Bound Brook, and delivered or mailed to the Borough Clerk at the aforementioned address. Each bid must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a New Jersey-authorized surety company. Bid security is mandatory, requiring either a certified check or cash in an amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid, capped at $20,000.00, or a bid bond of equivalent value. This security serves as a guarantee that the successful bidder will execute the contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within ten days of award; failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit as liquidated damages. A surety company bond for the full contract price, indemnifying the Borough for faithful performance, will be required from the successful bidder. Bidders cannot withdraw their proposals for sixty (60) days after the bid opening date.
