ing laws. They review applications for variances which are, essentially, non-permitted uses. The Board of Adjustment is empowered to
grant exceptions to the zoning ordinances in cases where the literal and rigid interpretation and enforcement of the zoning laws would
cause a hardship or injustice.

Storm Water Information
Water from rain and melting snow that flows over lawns, parking
lots and streets is known as stormwater runoff. This water, which
travels along gutters, into catch basins and through storm drain
pipes and ditches, usually is not treated, but then flows or is dis-
charged into local waterbodies. Along the way, stormwater picks up
trash. This polluted stormwater can kill fish and other wildlife,
destroy wildlife habitat, contaminate drinking water sources and
force the closing of beaches because of health
threats to swimmers.
Stormwater flows directly into our rivers, lakes,
streams and ocean or into a stormwater system
through a storm drain.
What can I do to help?
•
Keep leaves and grass out of the storm drains
•
Recycle used motor oil
•
Don’t litter
•
Reduce, re-use and recycle
•
Never dispose of pet waste down a
storm drain
•
Properly store fertilizers and pesticides
•
Don’t feed geese, ducks or other forms of wild life in public
areas.
Grass & Leaves
Picked up every Wednesday, weather permitting. Collected
in bio-degradable bags ONLY!
