RFQ - City Forester Services 2025- Responses due 12-3-24

The City of Summit is soliciting proposals for a City Forester to provide various services related to tree management and preservation within the city. Key responsibilities include inspecting and assessing trees, writing and enforcing tree-related specifications, assisting with grant applications, developing Community Forestry Management Plans, enforcing tree protection ordinances, reviewing landscaping plans, and participating in Arbor Day and Tree City, U.S.A observances. The selected City Forester will work approximately 30-40 hours per month and must possess a B.S. Degree in Forestry or a related field, or be a NJ Certified Tree Expert, or an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience. Proposals must be submitted to the DCS Director by December 3, 2024, at 4:00 PM.
