2019 Union City Master Plan - ReExamination Report

This is a Master Plan Reexamination Report for Union City, prepared by Heyer, Gruel & Associates, as defined by the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (N.J.S.A. 40:55D-89). The purpose of the report is to review and evaluate the local Master Plan and Development Regulations to determine the need for updates and revisions. The City adopted its last Master Plan in April 2009, and a previous Reexamination Report was prepared and adopted on March 6, 2018. The current report identifies goals and objectives, describes changes in the City, County, and State related to development issues and planning assumptions, and recommends actions to be addressed by the City concerning land use and zoning issues. Public participation was a key element, with public meetings held to gather community input on a range of issues.
