--- Document: 2026 Municipal Calendar Document --- INSPIRING AMERICA Honoring 250 Years of Our Flag Calendar & Reference Guide (through January 2027) Borough of Waldwick Michael F. Ritchie, Jr. mritchie@waldwicknj.gov Andrew Brennecke abrennecke@waldwicknj.gov A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you and your families the very best in the New Year. I hope you had a joyful holiday season surrounded by loved ones. This year, it is an honor to dedicate the 2026 Waldwick Calendar to the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic milestone offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past — to honor the contributions of all Americans — and to look ahead to the future we wish to create for the next generation. Across the country, Americans are planning ways to celebrate this semi quincentennial anniversary. Here in Waldwick, the Borough along with local non-profits and community organizations will be marking the 250th Anniversary by highlighting Waldwick’s history through a series of special events for all to enjoy. We look forward to sharing more information as plans are finalized. As we enter 2026, let us be thankful for our blessings and remember those who are less fortunate. To our Waldwick Veterans, thank you for your service to our country and community. To our seniors, thank you for your examples and wisdom. And to our young residents, thank you for your optimism and hope for the future. I would like to thank Councilwoman Michele Weber and Councilman Mark Ramundo for serving on the Borough Council. Your hard work, dedication, and tireless efforts on behalf of Waldwick residents are deeply appreciated. We are truly going to miss you both. To Chief Mark Messner, thank you for your 36 years of service to our Police Department. Enjoy your retirement. And thank you to Steven Neale, who left his role as Borough Administrator in September. Congratulations to Angela Smith and Alyson Courtney Wingate on being elected to the Borough Council. I look forward to working alongside you, and with the entire Council, as we continue to serve the residents of Waldwick with integrity and commitment. I also want to welcome our new Borough Administrator, Tatiana Marquis, and our new Police Chief, Troy Seifert, and wish them great success in their new roles. I look forward to working with both of you as we strengthen Waldwick even further. To the residents of Waldwick — your enthusiasm, volunteerism, and compassion are our greatest asset. Whether serving on boards, organizations, or clubs, you embody the spirit that makes Waldwick a true community — one where people care for one another and take pride in living, working, and raising families together. This past year has been exciting for Waldwick. We continue to move our community forward through the hard work of our Council, Administrative Staff, Borough Employees, and Volunteers. As a governing body, we will continue to make bold decisions and pursue progress on programs and policies that not only save taxpayer dollars but also strengthen our reserves, improve services, and enhance the quality of life for all residents. The year ahead will bring new challenges and new opportunities, and together we will face them with the same compassion and dedication that defined the past year. No one stands alone in Waldwick — we all stand together. Waldwick is a great place to live, work, shop, raise a family, and be part of a caring, multi-faceted community. We are proud of the many services available to our residents, many of which are highlighted in this calendar. To our local businesses — thank you for investing in Waldwick and for being part of our Waldwick family. Remember: Shop Local, Shop Waldwick! I still believe that our best days lie ahead. Let us continue working together to make Waldwick more united, more prosperous, and a place where family traditions, values, and community pride thrive. May 2026 be a year filled with adventure, success, happiness, and good health for all. “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” — Albert Einstein Onward Together, Mayor Tom Giordano STAYING CONNECTED Borough website Visit the Borough’s website, www.waldwicknj.gov to access forms, useful links and the municipal directory.
