2020 Bid To Furnish and Install Fire Alarm System

The Township of West Orange is seeking sealed bids for the furnishing and installation of a new fire alarm system in its Municipal Building. This project aims to upgrade the existing system to meet NFPA 72 compliance, enabling early detection of fires and providing occupants with sufficient warning for safe evacuation. The scope includes removing the old fire alarm panel, installing a new NFPA 72 compliant system with specific components such as smoke detectors, horn/strobes, LED exit lights, fire-rated doors, and magnetic door holders. Bidders must have at least five years of experience in fire alarm system installation and must comply with all relevant New Jersey state regulations, including those concerning equal employment opportunities and business registration. Bids are due by February 25, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. prevailing time, and will be opened publicly in the Council Chambers. Bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for ten percent of the total bid price, not exceeding $20,000, is required.
