Safe Streets And Roads For All, Studies, And Supplemental Planning

The Township of West Orange is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide professional planning and technical support services under the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program. The project involves conducting two focused safety studies: a Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Safety Study and a Roadway Lighting Safety (RLS) Study, including respective mapping components, to inform future safety improvement projects and update the Township’s Vision Zero Action Plan. Key requirements include experience with SS4A grants, qualified personnel, and compliance with various legal and regulatory requirements. Sealed proposals, clearly marked with the project title and submitting party's details, must be received by the West Orange Township Purchasing Department at the Municipal Building, 66 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052 no later than April 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The proposals will be publicly opened and read at that time in the Council Chambers. All work, including the final updated Action Plan, must be completed no later than August 2029.
